We loved Quebec from the minute we arrived and that feeling has just grown and grown. It’s a completely unique city in North America with so much more history than any other place we’ve visited so far.
Living in Quebec these past couple of weeks has been fabulous and rather than go on and on about ‘what we did next’ and ‘then we went to’ I’m just going to show you a bunch of photos to give you a feel for what we experienced in this amazing city.
Our new Airbnb turned out so much better than we could have imagined after the Abandoned In Quebec business. Staying in Jerome’s amazing apartment has been fantastic, so easy to walk everywhere and such a spacious and cool place to live. We’re getting spoilt.
We must have walked the short 15 minute stroll to the Plains of Abraham almost every day as we loved it so much. Even when the weather started to change ….
We couldn’t stop visiting the Old City either, so many little windy streets and bars and shops to explore. Very European in it’s look and feel and particularly loved Dufferin Terrace and the famous Frontenac Hotel.
Every day here brings different weather at the moment so we’ve had to take hats, gloves, raincoats, sunglasses, everything. You just never ever know. But as we keep saying, ‘you get wet, you get dry again’.
Weather wasn’t great on the last few days as Autumn (or Fall if you really insist) really took hold. Very wet and starting to get very cold but nothing like the temperatures that Quebec will experience in the next few months. Regular minus 20 degrees and deep snow so we’re not complaining. Our last morning as we left to move on to Montreal even featured snow.
So sad to be leaving this beautiful city, we could easily have stayed another couple of weeks. If you were ever thinking of spending a few days in a Canadian city then you really couldn’t beat Quebec. We’ve loved it.

Fabulous city Dawn, definitely the most interesting and North American place we’ve been to.

Please, please tell me those ridiculous gloves were only on hire for the day. Perhaps Jo can ‘misplace’ them before your return to Blighty. No words needed for that blog. Quebec is just the most curious place to look so European but to be so close to the USA.

Ridiculous? I’ll have you know that I get lots of admiring glances in those gloves (or sympathetic ones perhaps).

Wow wow wow on the picture front. You’ve just made me miss autumnal days even more! Looks like another great find from you two. Anywhere low on the list from this Canadian adventure?

Autumn is the best season by a mile. It’s got a bit cold here though so suddenly we’re all wrapped up in coats and hats and amazingly fashionable gloves. Only place that we could say wasn’t that amazing was probably Calgary I’m afraid. Really quiet, hardly any history, and not a great deal to do.
