Vagabonding: The act of leaving behind the orderly world to travel independently for an extended period of time and a deliberate way of living that makes freedom to travel possible.
Although we blogged about our visit to Portmeirion in our most recent post, Portmeirion to the Llyn Peninsula, we just couldn’t resist giving it centre stage with a few more photos. It’s such a unique, bizarre place. So no apologies for sticking with this crazy town for a while longer. If you’ve never visited then you really should make the effort as it’s unlike anywhere else we have ever, ever, ever been.
I love all the turquoise detailing on the buildings! I’m hoping to paint my living room a similar colour, though I don’t think my partner is quite as enthusiastic as I am…
Go for it. The more colourful the better as it brings everything to life a bit more doesn’t it? Portmeirion is a little bit like an assault on your senses though.
I really need to go there sometime!

It must be quite weird to wake up somewhere like that! You would think you we’re still dreaming.

Yes I can’t imagine how strange it must be first thing before the visitors arrive. Very surreal.

It’s so odd isn’t it but amazing to visit. All of the accommodation is actually in the main buildings around the square so look really interesting.

It looks a great mix of colour and styles making it a remarkable place to visit. I guess maybe that’s what they were after! Fabulous!

It really is. Not much use of camouflage or any attempt to make the buildings blend in with their surroundings. Loud, proud, and very different.
