Goodbye Welwyn Garden City

Welwyn Garden City

It seems like only yesterday that we arrived here in the Hertfordshire town of Welwyn Garden City not sure what we would find and with no prior knowledge of what the town or area would be like. We only booked the little Airbnb apartment as it was reasonably priced and we wanted a months stay.

But to our complete surprise, the town is great and the countryside all around is absolutely stunning. We have been blown away by the number of footpaths and wonderful walks that we have been able to do and they are all no more than 10 minutes walk from out apartment.

So in the end we stayed for over 11 weeks and we’ve been so comfortable. It’s almost been like having our own home as we have been so settled.

But the time has come to leave and so we have been packing those rucksacks again and getting ready to leave. It’s more difficult packing after such a long time as you tend to spread out a lot more and there seems to be a lot more stuff. We’ll be ok though, we’re well used to packing by now.

It’s time to head off to our first housesit for over six months and it’s down in our our home county of Kent. We are off to Edenbridge for a week to look after a couple of dogs and a great big house so we will be sure to let you know how that goes. I hear they have a hot-tub and a table tennis table so you never know …..

Just a mixed-bag selection of photos now to remind us of what life has been like in WGC.

    • It was a brilliant place to stay for so long and the town and countryside were a major surprise. Was starting to feel like home after 11 weeks. Housesit is looking good so far.

    • WGC was such a surprise, a beautiful part of the country and so many great walks. Edenbridge seems nice but only here a week so not sure how much we will get to see.

  1. Finding a new place that you enjoy is always a good thing. Even better when it was a bit of a wild card in the first place. Love the pink microwave and kettle in the kitchen. Very cheerful!
