A night in a 1912 Pullman train carriage was a Groupon offer that we just couldn’t pass on. Everything was perfect in this peaceful haven of a renovated railway station and adjacent four static Pullman carriages. From the parasoled al fresco tables, deep leather sofas in the Waiting Room/Lounge to the beautiful crockery and silver teapots. This is all before we mention the superior decor, comfortable bed and high quality finish of our room. Every Pullman is unique and has its own name, ours was Mimosa.

For the train buff there was lots to read on the history of the station, along with photos of the renovation.

After a fantastic breakfast we headed for the nearby Petworth House which is a National Trust property with extensive grounds. Petworth village itself was quaint and had a real community atmosphere. The only down side was the A road right through the middle. Shame for the residents and visitors alike.
This overnight break was a well needed break and opportunity to finalise plans to JWalk.
