Vagabonding: The act of leaving behind the orderly world to travel independently for an extended period of time and a deliberate way of living that makes freedom to travel possible.
At the end of these trips that we wander off on, when we’ve finished all the blog posts that we planned, we are often left with so many great photos that didn’t find their way out into the online world. Now we obviously don’t want you to see ‘all’ of our photos, that could potentially be embarrassing or even end in a law suite. But there are always a few that we just love and think ‘we should have published that one‘ or ‘that’s a funny shot‘.
So these don’t really tell a story and we’re not telling you the ‘10 Best Ways to see Egypt‘. They are just a bunch of pics that fill in some gaps and make us smile reminiscing over one of the best trips we have ever, ever been on.
“So many temples but every single one absolutely astounding”“Sporting the latest in JWalking fashion”“So many of these isolated fragile-looking houses along the banks of the Nile”“The armed police officer that posed for a photo then demanded payment (with menace)”“The Luxor Dry Cleaning company”“My girl looking very cool on the water taxi type boat across the Nile”“Before you say anything …. this may not look that nice but it was one of the tastiest meals I had. No idea what any of it is of course!”“Aswan night market and just look at the stallholders getting ready to jump us”“Looking slightly stroppy maybe but feeling very chilled and happy”“Looking slightly squiffy maybe but feeling very chilled and happy”“Love this photo of our friend Natalie interacting, or trying not to interact (not sure which), with the locals”“The edge of the incredible Sahara Desert”“Slightly bizarre visit to meet the captain of the Grand Rose”“Love swimming, and it’s even better when you are virtually the only one in”“So hard to show just how impressive and vast the temples of Egypt are. Mind-blowingly big”“Our home for a week, the Grand Rose sundeck”“Such beautiful sunsets every single day. Difficult not to take photos constantly”“Thanks Egypt, we loved you”

It was great seeing a random selection of photos with the only theme being that they are photos you liked from your holiday. What a great idea. So often we feel we have to tie everything together in a neatly matched parcel – and as you’ve just proved, this isn’t the case at all. Thank you for not only the photos, but for some future inspiration. Perhaps in the not to distant future at that seeing as my blogging mojo seems to have gone walk-about.
Can definitely relate to the photo with the officer! In Egypt, a man asked my boyfriend to take a photo of him several times and when my boyfriend finally complied, the man asked for money. But the tipping culture in Egypt is very intense so we kind of knew what we were in for
We enjoyed our trip down the Nile too….. we don’t fancy a sea going cruise with 3000 other people but we have enjoyed small river cruises. The temples are amazing aren’t they?
I’m so late commenting on this, that even you and Jo have already commented on your own blog! Excellent pictures. Of course you have JWalking t-shirts!
Wow, it looks like you have had so much fun. Delightful, thank you xx

It is incredibly intense and pretty irritating after a while. I guess it’s all part of the culture of Egypt isn’t it? Wonderful trip though.

Very irritating! It honestly left a bad taste in my mouth, Egypt is amazing but their tourist culture wasn’t great

And they would sell so much more stuff if they just let you look without hassling you! Crazy.

What do you do with all the other photos? I can’t believe you delete them but you must be paying a fortune for cloud storage! Cracking trip mate.
